My-Self

"Photography is a way of escaping reality, of creating your own dream world." - Saul Leiter

Hello,

I'm Artur, a Polish photography enthusiast living in the Netherlands, and this is the gallery of my work.

My photographic journey began in my toddler years when my father first placed a camera in my small hands. In that moment, I was captivated by the tactile, mechanical soul of the analog machine and the pure magic of peering through a viewfinder. Over the years, my father taught me the art of exposing film, developing negatives, and making prints, eventually guiding my transition into the digital era.

I find my greatest joy working with vintage lenses and film cameras, such as my Rolleiflex 3.5B, Praktica MTL3, and Minolta XD7, alongside early digital SLRs like the Sony a900 and Canon 5D Classic. These tools offer quality full of character, a tactile connection and ergonomic sincerity that modern technology often lacks. To me, post-2010 gear can feel too precise, sterile, and computerized; I find that over-automation can intrude upon the process, disconnecting the photographer from the raw joy of the craft, while superb imaging precision provided by new gear strips down the character.

Regardless of the medium I use, photography offers me a momentary escape into a world framed within the viewfinder. Once captured, these images become mirrors of my heart and head, portraying my unique perception of the world around us.

I often revisit these stills to find peace and relief from life's hurdles. My true satisfaction, however, comes from evoking emotions in others. This blog serves as a sanctuary for my special moments and a gallery for my friends who, like me, appreciate emotions and the world's beauty captured in a single frame.

Thank you for dropping by. I hope that you, too, will discover a moment in my collection that resonates with you.

Warm regards,
Artur .-
